Empty the disposal. Run hot water 1 min, then reduce to a thin trickle and angle the faucet away.

With water running, drop 1 tablet (first-time/heavy buildup). Run the disposal ~1 min.

If foam rises, keep water + disposal running until clear. Rinse—done.

Fill the water tank with clean water. Fit the blind/backflush basket (or cleaning disk) into the portafilter and place 1 tablet in the basket.

Lock in the portafilter and run your machine’s cleaning/backflush cycle as directed in the manual. Heavy buildup: repeat once.

Remove the portafilter. Run a large water flush through the group head, then rinse the portafilter/baskets before brewing.
